The sea fishing is by far the most demanding sport when it comes to fishing equipment and materials.
How about a reel with a unique coating, capable of withstanding 500 hours under a jet of salt water in our tests?
This is what the new SGS8 offers, and this coating has been christened SW500. To perfect its phenomenal resistance to salinity, we have chosen watertight (9+1) steel bearings ball bearings, as well as a braking system (also watertight), a reel body in light, solid aluminum and a rotor in carbon-reinforced composite.

But resistance is far from being the only quality of this reel. As it is equipped with our System 3 Friction Control system, which houses three layers of discs (one in glass fibre, the other in carbon fibre on each side), each disc, thanks to its rigidity, ensures a constant pressure which translates into a powerful and fluid spawning action, capable of stopping most fish.
And don't forget that the brake's lifespan is doubled by the possibility, after a few years, of turning the discs so as to work their obverse side. Your brake system is then as good as new!
